Doepfer Dark Energy II

The Doepfer Dark Energy 2 is a semi-modular monophonic desktop analogue synthesizer based around a single sawtooth core VCO and a state variable 12dB multi-mode filter.
Building on an already rich modular synthesis heritage the Dark Energy 2 is a compact eurorack friendly semi-modular synth with an all analogue signal path; high build quality, vintage looks and an unmistakable sound that’s all of its own. With a single wide range VCO that can track to +/-1 half an octave or +/-2.5 octaves this synth is capable of creating screaming leads, fat basses and obscure synthesis tones.
Despite its small form factor there’s no shortage of modulation options on offer, two dual wave LFO’s with three ranges that run well into audio rate and a simple ADSR envelope generator both of which can be set to frequency modulation of the VCO, pulse width modulation of the VCO, cross mod of the VCF or audio modulation carrier for the VCA.
Unlike most other synthesizers in its class, Dark Energy features a 6 input 3 output, eurorack friendly patchbay which allows for external control of the VCO, VCF and VCA from other sources further expanding the sonic applications of this cumber some synth module.
