A smaller version of the legendary VM1 with the characteristic clear, open and warm sound that has made Brauner a sought after name in microphone land. Caridoid only.
The Brauner Valvet X is a hand-built single-diaphragm cardioid Class A valve microphone from Germany.
Pure Cardioid technology lifts the Brauner Valvet X from merely being a fantastic microphone developed from the award-winning Brauner VM1 to being an even better value-for-money option than the other award-winning microphone in its lineage, the Valvet. Confused? You shouldn’t be. The Brauner Valvet X Pure Cardioid approach means that the microphone uses a single dedicated diaphragm to create its highly accurate polar pattern and in doing so, passes the saving on to you. Still built to the same exacting and uncompromising standards, the Brauner Valvet X offers fantastic audio response over a huge range of situations. The cardioid pattern allows the Valvet X to impart a warmth and enhanced proximity feel, especially when recording singers close-up.
Class A circuits are used in the amp stage of the Valvet for increased linearity and the microphone sound is full and detailed, with good frequency response over its entire range.
With an enviable reputation for excellent workmanship, design and components, Brauner could rest on its heels and just accept the plaudits – but no, Dirk Brauner started the search for perfection when he built the first VM1 and the journey is a never-ending one – with the Brauner Valvet X he has taken the next logical step along that road.
