RME Fireface 802 FireWire and USB Audio Interface

The RME FireFace 802 is a high-quality USB and FireWire 24-bit/192kHz audio interface for Mac and PC based on the legendary FireFace 800.
The RME FireFace 802 provides 60 channels of audio with four high-end mic preamps, world-class converters and a comprehensive effects section. The FireFace 802 has 12 analogue I/O including four mic preamps at the front, eight TRS I/O at the back and two high-impedance headphones stereo output. 18 Digital I/O are also included with AES EBU, two ADAT I/O, SPDIF and Wordclock.
The FireFace 802’s transparent mic preamps similar to those found on the highly popular OctaMic II preamp ensuring pristine audio and stellar performance in critical applications. The preamps produce extremely low distortion and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio as well as a perfect linear frequency response. The preamps can easily accommodate lower level and high impedance instruments, as well as dynamic and ribbon microphones providing up to 60dB of gain. All inputs at the front can also accommodate Hi-Z instruments for guitars, basses or other instruments. Phantom power can be assigned individually on each mic preamp.
Using the latest Analogue to Digital and Digital to Analogue conversion technology, The RME FireFace 802 offer an impressive dynamic range of 118dBA on playback. An efficient Jitter reduction, SteadyClock delivers pristine AD/DA conversion even when working with external digital clock sources.
The RME 802 also includes the DSP based TotalMix mixer which allows for fully independent routing and the mixing of all 30 inputs and outputs with up to 15 independent stereo sub mixes. TotalMix also includes a comprehensive Control Room section with unparalleled monitoring capabilities and routing flexibility. Each input and output include a 3-band parametric EQ, adjustable Low Cut, Auto Level, Compressor, Expander, MS processing and phase reversal. Reverb and Echo are also available through the stereo send and return bus. Two DSP of the Total mix are assigned to different functions with the first DSP dedicated to all the 90 channels while the second DSP is dedicated to the effects only. TotalMix is ideal to provide comprehensive monitor mixes with EQ and Reverb without using resources on your computer focusing your computer’s power to the recording and mixing of the tracks.
The FireFace 802 also works as a comprehensive monitor controller with Talkback, Listenback, Mono, Dim, Recall and External Input, Main and Phones output assignment. The optional Advanced Remote Control can also be connected offering direct access to Volume, DIM, Store, Recall, Mono, Talkback, External Input and more.
The FireFace 802 uses Firewire 400 and 800 as well as USB 2.0 offering a wide range of connectivity options. The all-new audio interface also includes an Intelligent clock control that indicates clock status, DIGIcheck offering a comprehensive toolset for metering, testing, measuring and analysing digital audio streams.
The 802 can be used as standalong and can be configured directly via iPad, MIDI remote control and ARC.
