Valve large diaphragm condenser microphone inspired by the legendary U67 handmade in the US by David Bock
The Soundelux U99 is a valve large diaphragm condenser microphone inspired by the legendary U67 handmade in the US by David Bock.
The Soundelux U99 is a multi-pattern microphone and boasts a K67 dual symmetrical backplate, dual membrane capsule. It also features Soundelux’ unique ‘fat’ switch, originally found on the U195, and an innovative high-frequency “boost-flat-cut” three toggle switch, which tweaks the HF response of the microphone. Furthermore, the U99 exhibits a pleasing proximity effect which sounds full instead of ‘boomy’. As a result, this microphone will deliver stunning performance on vocals but also on acoustic instruments and drums.
The U99 uses NOS (new old stock) valve and a true linear high current power supply to ensure the fullest sound. Electronic components differ from the original U67 with the removal of gain controlling negative feedback and the inclusion of a larger output transformer, giving the U99 much more low-frequency headroom.
The U99 will deliver similar sonic performance as the original U67 but with improved reliability of modern microphones and increased versatility. Handmade in the USA with carefully chosen components, the U99 is a no compromise microphone designed to deliver the best sound and lowest noise. It ships with a proprietary N470 power supply, six pin XLR cable and bottom thread shock mount.
