Maselec MDS-2

The Maselec MDS-2 is a 1U, dual mono high frequency limiter designed for use as a de-esser or as an acceleration limiter replacement for vinyl cutting.
The Maselec MDS-2 is designed to reduce unwanted high frequencies while providing minimum colouration and optimum clarity. To achieve this, the MDS-2 uses automatic time constants and optimisation techniques of the gain reduction resulting in minimal number of controls. This also ensures simple operation but also increased performance with highly dynamic or inconsistent material without requires constant readjustments.
With up to +29dBu input gain and extremely low noise, the Maselec MDS-2 is ideal for mastering or critical mixing offering pristine performance and sound quality. Furthermore the MDS-2 uses a side-chain circuit which can be switched to Mid/Side allowing you to focus on offending high frequencies at the centre of the stereo image. The side chain MS doesn’t affect the actual audio path and serves to activate the limiting.
