Mutable Instruments Elements is a complex complete synthesizer voice based around the concepts of Modal Synthesis.
Modal synthesis is a form of physical modelling, Elements combines Modal and other multiple forms of synthesis mediums that come together to produce a wide range of soundscapes, textures and timbres.
Elements utilizes an exciter form of synthesis which emulates bowing, blowing and striking, these physical emulations or external audio are combined and processed through a modal filter bank, which is comprised of 64 band pass filters that simulate resonating structures, each with adjustable dampening and brightness. Finally a stereo reverb is added to provide perceived depth to the sound.
As you would expect a wide array of CV inputs are provided for modulating the various synthesis parameters within the circuit. This complex synth voice provides deep, diverse sound results and features plenty of movement for more organic sounding patches.
