The Novation Peak is an eight voice polyphonic hybrid synthesizer, with a powerful, flexible architecture built around Novations brand new Oxford Oscillator technology and their revered analogue filter circuitry.
Peak features three oscillators per voice, with multiple waveforms, tones and even wavetables available per oscillator. Each oscillator includes waveform animation, providing further tone gnerating capabilities. Each voice also has a dedicated analogue filter based upon the Bass Station II’s toplogy, the filter is dual mode with both 12dB and 24dB modes.
There’s polyphonic aftertouch, reverb and delay effects, plus filter distortion both pre and post filter and a fully featured arpeggiator to boot.
When it comes to modulation, Novation have included a 16 slot modulation matrix which make use of the three envelopes and two LFO’s onboard and since the oscillators are digitally controlled, they are incredibly stable and make a great source for FM tones and patches. And if you own some modular gear, you can even bring in an external CV modulation source and apply it to any of the mod destinations.
